Dear all,
I have only a little experience in Oracle, and I have just finished creating application using VFP as our front-end and Oracle 8.0.5 as my backend. I have no experience/knowledge at all about tuning the oracle. Recently I have noticed whenever someone executes stored procedure (I used stored procedure to generate reports to clients) that takes quite long time (30 secs or so), another persons will have problem when updating tables. It seems that the server gives all resources to process the stored procedure, and then put the other request in a queue. After the stored procedure finished, then everything goes back to normal again. I thought, ORACLE could share the resources among the processes equally.

Are there any settings that I have to set up? Currently, we have only 192 Mb RAM in the server, and I am planning to add more memory into it (another 256 Mb).

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance.
