Hi Gary,

>This was a somewhat rhetorical question <s>. However, would you pay the PUTM fee if it was coming out of your own pocket (be honest <g>). Everything I use, I pay for given that I fly "solo".

Call me silly, but I've paid for PUTM out of my own pocket since I found this place in its first year and I never even got a VFP contract until 6 months ago (and it is now done!). Since VFP (formerly FP too) is my language of choice it was the only way I could stay current for that great day when I finally got another VFP contract. And it sure paid off for me in that regard!

>The mere fact that there is this two-tier approach is a bit galling. If you were afforded full functionality overall (irrespective of your membership type), I think I personally would be more inclined to "pay-up" to support the forum than I am now, feeling functionally "selected against".

I don't think that the UT management makes any bones about the fact that the BUTM is an "enticement" (my words, not theirs) to get one to buy the PUTM subscription. This happens, by the way, in lots of businesses (at least on this side of the pond).

As for being "more inclined to 'pay up'..."... I infrequently use the FoxWiki and learned about the "make a donation" trial for that service. I made a mental note to do that some time, intending a small "donation" mainly to indicate support. Still haven't done it.

Cheers,

JimN
