>Is there a trigger in Win2000 server which would kick in every time a file arrives at our FTP server. Rather than have a program run ALL the time checking for it?

Peter,
Well, one program will have to do the deal. Either You build a small VFP program that idles around and has a timer-event every now and then or You employ the scheduler that comes with Win2K. Open Windows NT-Explorer (C:\WINNT\TASKS\) and Double Click on Add Task.

Further on You might employ Windows Scripting host (have a look at http://msdn.microsoft.com/scripting/

Hope this helps
