A quick way is to use the CONFIG.FPW file... put a Path statement in there...

PATH=E:\DIRECTORY WHERE DATA FILES ARE AT,E:\SOME OTHER DIRECTORY I MIGHT NEED

and place this CONFIG.FPW file where the VFP program starts up at... so it can find it... and place this in your Target for the Icon of your program

C:\my progam im running\myprogram.EXE -t -Cc:\my program im running\CONFIG.FPW

assuming you have foxpro executables in this directory.
