Hi, I need to create a new partition where the range data is LESS than the range date set at the create table step. In other word, I created a partition table with a date range starting at Jan 2001 to Jan 2004. Now I have data that I require to be inserted into the table where the date range start at 1992 and ends at 2000. I need to create new partitions for the table that will allow to put the history data into its new assigned partitions. I would like to have each new partition on its own tablespace and storage parameters. I would like to have each partition to be date range by year.

I can not alter table add partion because I get an illegal error ORA-14074. My documentation tells me to split the partition, but can I split the partion into multiple partions with thier own assigned tablespace and storage parameters. If someone has the syntax for this, I would love to see it and/or apply. If there is another way around this dilema, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Danny
