>Has anyone experienced a problem with Windows 2000 upgrade using NTFS? (This is not a fast CPU problem). FoxPro 2.6 just flashes and disappears without an error. Our Windows 2000 installed PCs have no problems. It's just the ones that have been upgraded from Windows 9x that have problems. Any Ideas???

Sorry, just stuff you can try.

In WINNT\system32\ there is a file called config.nt. Make sure that the line

FILES=120

or some other suitably large number, appears. Also, if some of the foxpro support files (foxtools...) were in windows directories, make sure they didn't end up in system32.

The sugestion to add additional environment room (in config.nt) has also been made, which should speed things up, when you get them to work.

SHELL=C:\=%SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\COMMAND.COM /E:4096

Also, Thread #313589 Message #313606 mentions a patch. I don't know if this is real, or wrong patch.

Thread #313589 Message #470578 dicusses an autoexec.nt modification

Pehaps for some reason, during the install, the fox directory was not properly converted, try reinstalling (and reapplying fast patch), or at least recopying.

Do you use a config.fpw file? If so, post it, since that might have some clues, i.e. pointing to wrong directories or something.

George Tasker is on vaction, but I'm sure he can figure out this one when he comes back....

Good luck.

Please note, there are others that seem to be having this problem, so if you solve it, please note it so they can find it in the future.

Thanks.
Daniel
