3 movies in a weekend. I think I've met my match! I saw Baby Boy on Thursday afternoon, then Gangster Number 1 on Friday afternoon then Startup.com on Friday night. Whew!

>Movies I've watched this weekend... I started to go see Lara Croft, but couldn't find it starting when I wanted to watch it. It's on in 3 theaters within 5 miles of my house, but it just wasn't playing when I was ready to go see it.

>State & Main: Not a terribly bad comedy about making a movie in a small town. It was, however, flat and predictable as is every other attempt at Hollywood to poke fun at itself. Let me make a movie poking fun at Hollywood, but then I'd piss everyone off so bad they'd never market it.

>The Big Kahuna: A very nice little character study involving 3 salesmen at a trade show. Two of my favorite actors (Danny Devito & Kevin Spacey) perform very well. It's based on a play and would be much better as a play. I was wondering why they made it into a movie until the end when it became plain that the movie was simply a promotional tool for the "Commencement Speech" song/speech from a couple of years ago.

>Me Myself I: An Australian feel good "chick flick" about a woman who has an opportunity to see what her life would have been like had it gone the way she wants it to. I must admit my initial interest in this movie was due to my most recent love interest: Rachel Griffiths. And I was rewarded because she not only plays herself but her double (oddly enough). Griffiths also plays in HBO's new Six Feet Under which is really good, even without Griffiths. I also didn't know she was Australian till I saw this movie.
