Hey I had given you star for your answer and they have gone away.

You know what I did a SCAN ENDSCAN using you logic and all the records are now deleted. I messed up not using DO WHILE.

Any way thanks for the responses I got from all of you and I switched to a ssimple thing

SCAN WHILE  = 
   ***
   ***
   
   SELECT 
   DELETE
ENDSCAN

I had originally used my logic becuase in the UDF I was using macro substitution for the  thus to avoid macro subs in a loop I'd got aroung to the previous thing and you know what it was working.
