In addition to what Craig posted, you can download Doug Hennig's Report Objects from Stonefield's website. There is also an article in the June 1999 FoxTalk issue about using report objects.

These give you the ability to create a report on the fly. You just have to build the interface for the user to select the fields, indexes, etc.
