Sounds exciting. I've had very positive experience building web apps using ASP, VB and VFP COM (for middle tier business objects) and SQL Server for the database and would recommend this approach (.NET will take precedence once it's RTM but that isn't the case yet).
ASP uses VBScript or JavaScript. You shouldn't have too much trouble with VBScript once you become familiar with the syntax. JavaScript is a bit of a pain in the ass, especially for debugging but after a while you'll get the hang of it.
