Hi,

Thank you for your response. I can think of two reasons.

Sometimes I want to copy a chunk of code from the debugger's trace window outside of the VFP environment and massage it into an expression to paste back into the watch window. Events are sometimes triggered when switching from the debugger to the command window. That is, the .APP may initially have focus.

Also, if the debugger has been repeatedly accessed and exercised enough without exiting and restarting VFP, I've found VFP apt to suddenly crash. I may be testing something in the command window I'm not ready to save in the project yet but want to be sure I don't loose.

It's really just a personal work preference. A simple external text editor seems to help me.
