Is your client wanting to see the results in a grid? If I understand you correctly you are unable to get your summary lines (records) to display at the bottom of each group of detail lines. If so, try creating an additional field in the source table to sorting, making detail records sort code 1 and summary records sort code 2 within each group, for example.
