>I wasn't sure what category this actually fit under. But I need to compress some wave files to mp3 or wma files, automatically. I have been able to do it with fox and Windows Media Encoder, The problem I have is, media encoder doesn't recognize a wave file with a 6.00 khz sample rate, the lowest it will go is 8.00 khz, so it says I have an invalid file type. If I use Sound Recorder and change the format up to 8.00 khz, then I can compress it with the encoder. I know that sound recorder can be automated, but I haven't found any howto pages, and I'm not sure that would be the best way to do this.

You might check with a VB or .net forum on this one.
