Looking for advice.
A new client of ours has a partially completed (+-85%) VFP application. Their contract programmer has walked away from the project. The work in progress is based on CodeBook that, may or may not has been modified. We use an in-house framework and are not familiar with Visual CodeBook, but have used their FP2.6 version.
The version of the class libraries are circa 1999, the version on the Flash website is now COMCodeBook. So that we can decipher their state of modification, where can we obtain the latest version of CodeBook prior to COMCodeBook?
If the framework used in this under implemented application has not been modified what would be the issues, if any, in upgrading it to COMCodeBook.
How well supported is CodeBook/COMCodeBook? Is there still a community out there?
What would be the advantages/disadvantages and degree of difficulty in moving to a more supported framework based on CodeBook, ala, Mere Mortals.
Software engineers are trained to read and understand code; they are not trained in mind reading. Document the purpose not just the functionality.
