About 25 years ago I read an article about air polution - the concern was hydrocarbons. The article went on to state that the Great Smokey Mountains in West Va, produce more than the EPA allowed hydrocarbons. To eliminate this problem it was suggested that all trees in that region be cut down as they were the source of the problem!
