Gee, Michael, what projects does your company currently have in bid? *eg*

More seriously, so far as I found with magazines, and I don't see any reason why MSDN would be different, editors are _starved_ for good, dependable authors with something substantive to say. So, if you have an idea of a topic you care enough about to write about, send it to Mike Stewart (ducks). Send a few ideas. It doesn't have to be a final-form submission. Just enough to get the reader interested. Doesn't hurt to know your audience. "Why MS Sux and Linux Rulz, d00d" probably _isn't_ going to make the final cut at MSDN. *g*

_Do_ be prepared to say clearly why you think it's important, what you want to say, that it hasn't been said a million times before, and be prepared to really work. Writing is hard. But, I'll tell you, nobody starts out as good at it as they get if they stick to it. Honestly, I think working at being at least a servicable writer makes one better at every endeavor.

Even if you don't make it into the mag, there are other publications, user group meetings, KB articles to write.

So, even though I don't wear Nike...Just Do It.
