File maintainence is adding, changing and/or deleting records in t table.
I don't use views because I don't use DBC's. I understand there is a way to build a temporary DBC and then build views, but I haven't tried to do it.
However I don't see how using a parameterized view with buffering is going to make grids better behaved when you add, change, or delete records in a child table.
