PMFJI, but for ASCII reports I'd suggest using Courier New 12 pt. font since it closely approximates the ASCII layout of 10 cpi and 6 lpi. Pay particular attention to the width of your fields and the space between them. If they're even a bit too small you'll still get double spacing.

If you really want control over ASCII-style reports, use TEXTMERGE or some other method of creating the report instead of using the report writer. That way you control each space and line break.
