I'm not sure what you were trying to explain in your reply.

According to the FAQ that Nadya pointed to, macro substitutions are NOT compiled (tokenized), whereas name expressions are. So his statement that there is a difference when compiled is true (unless the FAQ is wrong).

I just thought that if Nancy wanted to point out that something was wrong with his explanation, then she should have taken the time to give the reason why Andrews speculative suggestion was wrong, instead of taking her very arrogent & rude (IMO) tone of reply.
