Hi!
THis is well-known problem of listboxes. They work with little number of items and even more little number of pictures. I would suggest you to use the grid control and make it appear like a list (See my FAQ article about this). The refreshing of the image control in the grid is diable by using the Dynamic* properties of column - call your custom method from the expression in one of these properties and refresh picture property of image in that method.
