Once before I removed the default TextBox (Text1) control in a similar situation but I cannot remember how I did it. I can do it programically with RemoveObject('Text1') but want to do it in the designer while I'm working on the grid.

Robert,
While in the designer, select the text control you want to delete from the control dropdown in the property sheet. The click on the form's titlebar. Do not click anywhere inside the form. Press the Delete key.

By clicking on the titlebar, the text control remains selected so it is the control deleted. If you clcik anywhere inside the form, the form or another control will be selected.
