>Thanks Nick,
>That was very gracious of you to email screen shots of your application. I am assuming this is a production system.

Yes, that's production system for Port of Halifax, working for 4 years already.

>I see in child grid you edit in the grid and have add & delete buttons to add or delete child records. And you can't move off that child record grid w/o either saving or cancelling changes. It looks very good and grids do have a very crisp look visually.

You can move the pointer within the child grid while modifying the child records, as it is in table buffering mode. But if you will try to change parent record (or close the form) you get the Save dialog, as usual. There is a Record Manager object (from the framework) on the form which takes care of that and checks if the data in any of open cursors were modified. This functionality is pretty basic for all commercial framework.

>It looks like I've got to check out your Visual Extend framework. Who or where can I contact to get information about it? I'm hoping that it will allowe to pick and choose the parts of the framework I want w/o dragging along a lot of stuff I don't want. Many frameworks I've seen are an "all-or-nothing" deal.
>Thanks again. Bill

You can get a 30-day evaluation copy and download the framework and all related documentation from http://www.devigus.com
They have Visual Extend 7.0 now. This framework has a lot of custom Builders.
I am not saying this is the best framework, just because nobody knows them all. Too much work to be a master in all frameworks. :) It is just a framework I worked with. It is a a very good, well-developed framework and as many well-developed frameworks it may be a kind of slow sometimes just because it is trying to do too many things at once to satisfy your needs as it understands them. That is a common problem with most frameworks.
