Back this month is the Seattle VFP SIG Open Forum Night! Our Moderator will be Ken Levy, noted expert on Visual FoxPro and XML. We’ll feature several short presentations from members including Gene Goldhammer, Program Manager US – Visual FoxPro, Microsoft Corporation and Mike Stewart, Software Developer and Test Engineer, Microsoft Corporation. Topics our presenters and moderator are prepared to cover include accessing .NET Classes with VFP 7, using SOAP with XML, more new features in VFP 7, updategrams (revisited), the VFP OLE DB provider and standards affecting software development. The format will be colloquial: your participation will shape the agenda so bring your questions. This is also the perfect time to share something you’ve been working on but haven’t had time to develop into a formal presentation. These evenings have been among our most enjoyable and productive learning experiences.

In August, Mani Gill from Seagate Software will be with us to demonstrate the ways in which Crystal Reports can be used with VFP applications and data. Be sure to put the August 20 meeting date on your calendar.
