This is my last post in this futile thread until Lucien posts any additional detailed information about the exact problem he is having.

I did run tests, I provided you the code I tested. It does not matter one iota if that code is in the command window, a prg or a method of a class in a classlib.

As soon as the class designer is closed the methods memo is compiled into the pcode that is stored in the ObjCode memo.

This is from Lucien's original post: Does anyone know why 'set default to &somepath' doesn't work while in a class? In a separate .prg it works fine but when it's part of the code in a class method it generates a 'Command contains unrecognized phrase/keyword' error. At no point in this problem statement does he say it's runtime or compile time. Without know exactly what the value of somepath is it's impossible to supply a definitive answer.

The second part of Lucien's post Also, commands like set default to sys(5) for example won't compile while in a class. Leads me to believe that there is some other problem at the root of all of this.

Driving me nuts... And perhaps he really has gone nuts which is preventing him from posting. *s*
