Title:
How to know the Network drive?
Please, Help me, I'm in a deep hurry.
OK, It's about generating some Zip files from a Client Machine to the Network server, When I need to create de zip to some directory, I use sys(5)+sys(2003), then the directory name and everything works fine when I do it directly on the server... However, sys(5)+sys(2003) doesn't work for a clien machine, the file to be generated doesn't create at all and it's all about the path I use to generate it .. so my question is:
What kind of technique do I have to use to generate a simple file from a client machine to a network server?
Is there any function out there to be used instead of sys(5)+sys(2003) that only works when run from the server?
This sounds a pretty common situation but I just can't figure out. I'm using NT SERVER 2000 and in some places a Workgroup network usig Win98.
My app runs from a main directory called:
\newoms
then some directories...
\aenviar
\backup
\enviados
\nuevos
\...and so on.
From a client machine, when I try to figure out the path running , All I get is paths such as:
"\\Server\Applications\Newoms\"
Why Can't I know the letter from the remote server? Why can't I get ""f:\\Server\Applications\Newoms\"
Why is the network drive letter missing ? I'm confused.
Please Help.
