Steven,
WHat is the user choosing from? If it is a view in Notes, you can read the view using automation techniques and display the necessary information for the user to select from.

If that is not an option, you may be able to work with the NotesUIWorkspace object. Using this in automation makes the Notes interface reflect what you are doing. At some point, you may be able to bring the Notes window forward (see SetForegorundWindow in WinAPI section) and allow the user to complete the send.
