Craig,
I guess it's a matter of size. I did some testing and a fairly simple 28 page word doc converted to RTF is loaded instantaneously. However, a very large and complex document (20MB) took forever to load. I noticed that assigning the text to .textRtf as opposed to .text performed slightly better.
How big is your text file?
>I'm experimenting with the RTF control and have come up with one problem. When I load the text file either through the LoadFile() method of the control or if I just set the RTF.Text = FILETOSTR("MyFile.TXT"), the file load immediately. However, it takes over 30 seconds before control is returned to VFP. Any ideas what is causing this?

>>I've had a similar requirement some time ago. I've used the RTF control and set the RightMargin property to some really high value. Wrapping still occurs, but it was sufficient for my needs. I just did some testing. With RtfControl.RightMargin=800000 I was able to enter 4600 characters without wrapping.
