Cathy,
After being away from home and family on a contract for six months recently, I know firsthand how you're feeling.
The only thing that saved me from wearing white jackets in the rubber room was that I arranged to go home for a weekend once every three weeks or so. If there's a way you can arrange to go home, even for a few days, do it -- it helps more than you might think, and you start looking forward to the next trip home even as you're flying away from the last one.
And I wasn't even lucky/good enough to be working in Redmond (bg)...

>Thanks! I've had that quote taped to my monitor for the last 5 years. I'm currently working in Redmond, WA with the Microsoft Fox Team for a short contract. My husband and kids are still back in Michigan. I miss them terribly and I've often thought of that phrase. I plan to spend some major quality time with them when this contract is over.
