Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that it physically went and re-fetched all the records again. I guess I should have should have said that the records are taken from the temporary cursor created when the view was opened.

I think the point I was trying to make, rather badly <g>, was that the view must be using its' recordset as it doesn't have access to the base table.
