Last fall at Whifest, I did a PreCon on COM+ and a regular session on Crystal Reports. Markus has a regular COM+ session that covered some of the material in my PreCon. I had just finished my CR session when I was told "Markus is sick. Whil wants you to take his session". I had 10 minutes to "prepare". Luckily I saw Markus do the same session a month earlier in Miami. I used the material from my session and just cut out what didn't apply.

>>No, I am not offering for you to do that at my funeral. My remark was intended to be somewhat humorous but true.

>>I used to be in the ministry full time. I only preached one funeral but I remember thinking that I had never been so nervous my entire life. After all it is not the kind of place where you can recover a slip with a joke. At least not normally.

>I actually (mentally) rehearsed what to do in case of a disaster like the computer not working. You're right that the jokes one might use at a conference, or for a "normal" church occasion, wouldn't fly at a funeral.

>>Actually I enjoy speaking in front of others. I get to do that some with our user's group here in Houston. I am by no means as far along as others in VFP but they still let me speak. One day I hope to be good enough to be able to speak at one of these conferences.

>You stole the words, "I am by no means as far along as others in VFP but they still let me speak" out of my mouth, because that describes me exactly. I'm still trying to "catch up to Jim Booth" which was one of my original goals. If you keep plugging away, you'll get there.
>
>I'm still terrified of speaking. You're way ahead of me on that one!
