I assume you are referring to mainframe varieties of DB2. However, if you're asking about AS/400-based DB2 (which may be the same thing, now that IBM is calling it UDB=Universal Database) the answer is yes. We have a fairly substantial application running against an AS/400 backend. Although it's proprietary hardware, it still offers cost savings over many other solutions. It's also a stable environment :)

As far as the drivers, they come with a package called Client Access. I'm not sure if that is bundled with the AS/400 or not.
