>(My remark was supposed to be humourous too!) < g > <
Oh it was, but you would have to get in line. A lot of people will want to have the last word. :)
>I actually (mentally) rehearsed what to do in case of a disaster like the computer not working. You're right that the jokes one might use at a conference, or for a "normal" church occasion, wouldn't fly at a funeral. <
Although I have seen some times where a funeral errupted in laughter. My wife did the eulogy for her sister, who was a well know prankster. She really didn't know if she could do it. She got to the podium and paused, I was certain she was about to cry. At that very moment the lights dimmed and the sound system gave a loud pop that startled everyone. She immediately quipped "Alright, Kathy, I am getting to the point." The people in attendance broke into laughter and she was able to speak about her sister.
>You stole the words, "I am by no means as far along as others in VFP but they still let me speak" out of my mouth, because that describes me exactly. I'm still trying to "catch up to Jim Booth" which was one of my original goals. If you keep plugging away, you'll get there. <
I suspect you are better than you think, judging by your participation here.
>I'm still terrified of speaking. You're way ahead of me on that one!<
You will get there. Just give a eulogy or two. :)
