I'm not quite sure what you mean by the first question. Is your app generating messages, and you want to delay these, or do you want to delay any outgoing mail?

I have done something similar to your second request (although in VB). Essentially just write an app that periodically checks the contents of one or more mailboxes, if there's something there, then read and parse the message(s). In my case I was checking POP3 mailboxes, so I used the Mabry mail OCX controls to do this. If you can't do this, then you will need to find a way to programmatically access Notes mailboxes.
