Don't use grids for editing, its not good practice and it can lead to headaches. Instead, allow users to double click a row in the grid and edit in a modal form.

Also, if you decouple your grids from their data sources and bind to an array instead of the underlying cursor, you'll find things seem to work much better especially when the grid is holding a child table. The extra layer of abstraction gives you more control.
