Someone might suggest MSDE, however, I use SQL Server 7.0 and it too crashes. This requires rebuilding, etc. which is built into the product. Now, what do you do if MSDE does a crash and burn? With VFP you should be using Stonefield Database Toolkit so if something happens it should take care of itself. You can make it transparent to the user if VFP tables or indexes get hosed as Stonefield can trap the error and "fix" the problem on the fly.

I have recommended this tool many times. Once Doug Henning sent me an e-mail and asked why I was not registered? Guess what? I just found my Product Registration Card! Maybe I will send it in!
