Database or table corruption doesn't occur frequently. An expensive solution like SQL-Server is not worth the cost - if this is your only concern.

You can reduce table and index corruption with the FLUSH command. Use it after TableUpdate().

Backup, as mentioned in another reply to your question, is of extreme importance, whether you work with VFP, SQL-Server, or simply Excel spreadsheets.
