I entirely agree with this.
Forget Intel. In every test out there, the Athlon blows the doors off it. Not only that, it's cheaper.
Only thing I would add is that if you have the dough, go for a high speed hard drive (10,000 rpm). I actually like having two hard drives - you can "Ghost" your first hard drive onto the second regularly, so if you crash, you'll be at least somewhat protected. No need for the second hard drive to be fast if it's primary purpose is backup.
