Sounds like you are most of the way there yourself on this one...
Preview of reports uses the printer driver so it can simulate what the report will look like on the printer (makes sense really), if the drivers are a bit iffy (or have not been coded to the spec) they can cause this kind of thing to happen.
Things to try..
Get the latest drivers from the manufacturers website
Try the drivers off the windows 9x cd
Last resort.. drop down to standard Epson compatible drivers (but I think this will be slow to print)
Real last resort.. before preview change windows default printer to a driver
which works, then change it back before printing.
Also try backing up & deleting foxuser.* files (although I don't think this is the problem)
