That something happens 100000 times is not a proof that it will always happen, whereas if you can find one example where it does not happen, you have disproven it and can move on. So you are better off looking for negatives to narrow your search. IMHO.

Scientific method was something I was trying to get across to Nancy Folsom in another thread, does the theory fit ALL the evidence, if not it's just FUD. (But I wont stir that one up again)
