It's already there, or nearly there, just doesn't use the 'push' direction, it's rather 'pulling'. In xBase world, it's quite common to Append From {table} [for...][while...], where {table} is a filename (not an alias - but you can put dbf('alias') to get the filename from the alias). So this partial incompliance with the SQL standard is not considered to be a flaw of any significant size. Though, it would be nice to have the Insert improved - to do multiple records, have a For/While clause etc etc.
