California is not the only state with the potential of earthquakes. In fact the experts say ours are mild compared with those of the North West. Remember we are speaking of geologic time and not recorded history. We do have a high population density where earthquakes like to strike so I guess that is one of the factors for where to place a city in California.

Yeouch.. 9.0 eh? I'd think that that would shake your teeth out of your head. <g> I know that the Mississippi River was re-routed by an earthquake in the early 19th century it was so big.

I expect that the level and intensity of eatrhquakes will shortly start to geometrically increase. By 'shortly' I mean within the next 5-10 years.
