>>Following his response to me, it's really tough at this moment to know why I bothered, that type of ungrateful attitude gets to me. We point in a lot of effort, only for him to tell me he's too busy to thank me, guess I'll be to busy to try again (at least for him).

>>But for yourself, thanks for asking the pertinent questions that got me to a solution, those "eureka" moments are worth the effort, even if the recipient is less than grateful.

>This very thing about the points system puts me off entirely on the whole thing. It might have been my proding that resulted in his "eureka" moment and earned me those stars. However, reading the entire thread, I might have earned 1 star for doggedness if nothing else. You earned the 3 because he ended up at your solution in the end.

>Can we go back into the thread and "force" the solution? Do you get the stars? DO mine go away? Who cares?
Not me in the least.
It was a humourous comment on giving him points that he doesn't really need - what does he reward himself with when he gets to 100 points or whatever.
If somebody had spent a lot of their own time helping me & I found myself to busy to say thank you at the time, I certainly would not take the attitude he did if I got a little reminder when they said thank you to me for helping them.
