Ah, yes Tom.
My first "popular" Assembler program (with programmers) intercepted COBOL program abends on IBM 360/370's via a supervisor interrupt that "patched" the offending statement (in a natively compiled program) and reexecuted the statement before relinquishing control.
Compile and go-go-go ....
