Sorry for the delay answering, Vlad. It's been a busy (and buggy) week :-(
I put the SQL code in the INIT because everything is then in an 'outside' file, which can be upgraded easily, even by a user if she is knowledgable. I don't need to recompile anything. Normally I call the report from a form that gives the user a preview/print choice, and summary/full choice, but the same report can be called from a button on a form or a menu choice if necessary. Parameters are passed to the SQL with application properties.
