If you dont know about the Web yet, Learn HTML DHTML javascript, and how it works with VFP as a backend database. No matter how really lame html is as a business form tool, it does server a valuable purpose.

If those skills are already under your belt, IMO I would learn as much as you can about sql (not specificaly MsSql, but Sql in general ) your skills as a programmer / database programmer will increase, and your value as a solution provider will increase. Sql like Xbase of years past has been standardized, and no one company I know of lives up to the standard completly, they all use the sql as a basis. So learning one, will give you a real head start on how they all work.
Java naa unless you want to learn cross platform programming.. XML - not yet, and too simple really. and standards are still be developed.

Its just my opinion.

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
