I have an application that uses DDE to display images from another application. If I run this option on my PC during development, the PC hangs while DDEInitiate() tries to connect to the DDE server.

Is there any way of enquiring if the particular DDE server is loaded without having to sit and wait for DDEInitiate() to return -1. This would also be required on client site for PCs that don't have a link to the particular software (ie. receptionists PC) in a multi-user setup.
