Fred;

Great idea and be sure to look into the various ones. Each one has advantages and anyone can save you hundreds of hours of programming time. There are many threads here and also on the Wiki dealing with this matter. Other things to look for related to a framework is if they have an Internet forum, cost of product, support, upgrades, documentation and whatever else you can think of.

One place to start is

Check out the white papers. Right now the site seems to be down but that should pass.

Let me know what you think after you look into this matter. If you want to build robust applications quickly this is the best way to go. Each framework requires learning how to use the specific product but over the long haul is the best investment you can make if you are going to do any serious VFP development.
