Just wondering about what is better:

In an edit-form I use optimistic recordbuffering and link the text-boxes to fields using RecordSource. But to create a new record and show blank fields, I have to use AppendBlank which I then will have to delete if the user wants to break out.

If I use Scatter to name, all editing could have been finished before appending a new record. I tend to like that better. But what is pro and con's using the two methods?
