I'd say you've got a filter issue. Filters cause the effect you see with the scroll button not relocating to the top of the grid.

I'm with Marsha and Cetin. A grid, especially, is no place for row buffering. I think you'd be solving a symptom (maybe, but adding other headaches) and not the cause of your problem. I suggest you simplify your situation and get it working...grid with table buffering, no SET KEY, no filters, comment out grid-related methods, and then start adding pieces back in til you find the bit that's messing you up.
