Sergey,

>It sounds like the Windows page swap file. If you have a free space on the D drive you can move it there.

Turns out that, using Windows default, the swap file is already (and always was) on Drive D, as far as I can tell, (Norton's Speed Disk reports it that way, anyway).

Ye GADS...that led me to doing something really, really, REALLY STOOOOOPID...got me into BIG trouble...and it took me almost 2 hours to get my system back up. I'm embarrassed to even admit it...i made the size of the swep file too small and the system wouldn't re-boot (yes, of course Windows warned me that I 'might not be able to start my computer if I entered the wrong values')! OC, there was not enough virtual memory allocated, and the system would hang after windows was started and my Startup apps were starting.

Safe mode was useless as I couldn't use my touchpad (the cursor bounced all over the place). I have an "ergonomic" keyboard, w/out a number pad, and NumLock so I couldn't get into a mode where I could use the mouse keys to navigate the desktop. Things were getting a little nervous.

Tried to start up in various ways...processing start up files one line at a time w/out loading various drivers, etc. Didn't work.

Finally, I brought the system up in DOS, cleared my Startup folder and re-booted. Whew. Then I could reverse the damage.

Fun way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon! ;-)

Onward and upward...J
